Message Board Posting Rules
The aim of the Only Olivia message board is to facilitate discussion of Olivia Newton-John, her life and work Members and non-members of the fan club are welcome to use it - please observe the following guidelines.
The board topic of discussion is about Olivia Newton-John, so posts must have some relevance to her :-)
You must be over 13 to have an account or post to the board.
Nobody authorised by Only Olivia or its agents will ask you for your password. Do NOT give it out to anyone.
The board is run by fans of Olivia for fans. You may not use the board to disparage Olivia or her work in a general way. Note this does NOT preclude intelligent criticism of her work, but we presume you are here because you like Olivia. If you don't, that's absolutely fine by us, but say it elsewhere!
Posts descending to the level to personal attacks and ad-hominem arguments will most likely be removed.
Don't use the board to promote websites. The Olivia Webring is designed to help with that.
Messages must be written in English.
Don't misuse your account, impersonate others or pretend to be something/one you aren't. Using a 'handle' is okay but if you change it too often you will fall foul of our security measures. This and other forms of identity misuse may be highlighted in the forums as a service to other users of the board.
One person to one and only one user account. Moderator accounts not included but will be used for system operation only.
Don't use the board to promote your particular political/religious viewpoints or lifestyle choices. There are many places on the Net where you can do that - this is not one of them. It is about Olivia Newton-John.
Do not use the board for selling - http://www.ebay.com offers a trading service which offers the buyer in particular more guarantees than we can that the seller exists and can be reached in the event of any queries...
Respect Olivia's privacy and professionalism - do not post links to audio/video material that was recorded without Olivia being aware that the recording was taking place.
Be considerate about posting information about other individuals and organisations. In particular do NOT post addresses or phone numbers of private individuals without their knowledge and consent. Not all businesses will thank you for posting their details either, if they are not geared up to deal with the general public. IF IN DOUBT - ASK THEM FIRST...
It is unwise to post information such as your street address or home phone number on any Internet site such as this board or in your profile.
Respect other people's personal information. Do not republish it elsewhere without the poster's prior permission.
To keep the message board a reasonable size for most threads and posts are aged from the board after a certain time which varies from about 2 weeks or longer according to the usage.
By posting you agree that Only Olivia may, at its discretion, cite messages or extracts from the messageboard on Soulkiss, the Internet ONJ mailing list, other parts of this website or the Newsletter. 'message' in this context means the content of messages and the associated username but does NOT include profile information. We will not cite profiles without prior agreement from the profile owner.
Message express the views of their authors and not those of Only Olivia.
Only Olivia and its personnel reserve the right to refuse to display any messages and to deny access to anyone as we deem necessary.
The message board is designed to complement Soulkiss, the Olivia Newton-John Internet mailing list, not replace it.
